The Classic Black Bag

I've been so into updating my basics for the last year (yes, it's been that long since I've posted). I've come to realize that it's worth investing in some key basics that you can wear multiple ways and that will never go out of style. This bag is definitely one of those investments for me but deep down I know I'll have this piece forever.

Sparkles + Glitter

So ya, not gonna lie this outfit is pretty boring. BUT please take the time to just stare at this awesome kimono blazer thing. JUST STARE AT IT! Sequins are absolutely amazing and they have the power to make a woman feel empowered when she wears something that glitzy. The sequins on this kimono- like blazer top have an ombre effect. They start off lighter at the top and near the bottom of the top they are a deep bronze colour. The sequinned blazer is definitely the focal point of this outfit.

Thanks so much for reading y'all :)

Fuzzy Wuzzy

It was a cold COLD COLD DAY! I decided to wear this amazing fuzzy sweater because it is warm and cozy and reminds me of the cookie monster from sesame street! If only it came in blue…. These printed pants that I'm wearing are also pretty interesting. They look and feel like jeans but they are essentially jeggings. You literally just pull them on and off, no zippers or buttons required. Talk about an easy lazy day outfit. The bottom picture is one of my heart ring. I never take this ring off. It was given to me by my parents and it is probably one of my most prized possessions.

Gold + Fringe

Of course, I had to goof off a bit as usual :P I MADE THIS SCARF! Isn't it pretty?

The first thing I love about this outfit are the colours. Blue and yellow are contrasting colours on the colour wheel and I thought that they complement each other nicely and stand out in this outfit. This kimono top is actually the first piece of clothing with fringe that I own. I've always been scared of fringe and deemed myself not hipster enough to wear it, but there isn't an insane amount of fringe on this top to make me afraid to try this trend out. Another thing I love about this kimono top is the gold lace floral detailing. It contrasts with the outrageous fringe providing a more feminine feel. I am wearing this pair of amazing wool socks on my feet… INVEST IN WOOL SOCKS EVERYONE! The winter here in Vancouver has been insanely cold lately and these socks have saved my feet! Also, sorry about the wet hair, I didn't have time to use a hair dryer before these pictures were taken!

Red Velvet

Just had to :)

Red velvet to me is the symbolic fabric texture of Christmas. It's festive, cheery and easy to dress up or down. To be honest, I put absolutely zero thought into this outfit. I was running late so I literally looked into my closet and picked random items that I thought had a possibility of working well with my velvet skirt. I wanted this outfit to be put together, but not too formal so I wore my combat boots (that I wear with basically everything, no joke) and a slouchy blazer instead of a more structured one. Velvet is so festive, beautiful, versatile and worth investing in just for something a little different.

Thanks so much for reading and Merry Christmas !! :)

"Ugly" Sweater Weather

It's that time of year! Sweater weather, or for many "ugly" sweater weather. I absolutely love this sweater. It definitely is not ugly in my opinion but fits the stereotype of a unique sweater that is cozy and perfect for the wintertime. This sweater is a slight hi- low hemline which only adds to its uniqueness. It's honestly a STATEMENT sweater. When wearing this sweater, I feel like no other clothing item I wear with it can take away its star status.

Thanks so much for reading! :)
